Despite going through chemo for almost 6 months now, 19 year old Timmy Fiedorowicz’s cancer has spread. It initially was in the lymph nodes in his neck and upper chest. It has now spread to some of the lymph nodes below his diaphragm. So his cancer has progressed from stage 2 to stage 3. He’s going to need a stem cell transplant. In the meantime, he’ll be going through a few cycles of a chemo regimen called ICE, since the ABVD regimen didn’t work. Meanwhile at Duke they will be preparing as if he’s going to choose the allo transplant, so they immediately begin the process of trying to find a stem cell donor. Timmy is looking at spending about 4 months or so in Durham after his ICE regimen is completed. The first month will be inpatient at Duke. The following 2 or 3 months will be outpatient, but he’ll need to live in Durham, because he will have to be closely monitored and report to the transplant clinic everyday, 7 days a week until he’s cleared to come back home. Please reblog, and if possible feel free to donate. http://timmyfiedorowicz.bbnow.org/index.php
